The brand Clarisonic was founded in 2001 by a team of scientists and engineers. Their mission was to create a revolutionary piece of technology that could transform our skin, with clinical proven results. Clarisonic is the number one cleansing brush, recommended by dermatologists and aestheticians around the world.
We are all striving to achieve perfection when it comes to our skin. Some want smaller pores, a glowing complexion, improved texture, and some want increased hydration and better absorption of products. Whatever you need, Clarisonic is the answer.
I was recently lucky enough to meet Maria the educational trainer for Clarisonic. She shared some interesting facts and points with me. Did you know, that 88% of people have a combination skin type? And that 84% of users of Clarisonic saw a reduction in pore visibility? After initial discussion with Maria she was made aware that my skin type was combination/ dehydrated.
Ideally, I'd like my skin to be producing a normal amount of sebum. If we produce too much our pores will look enlarged, and the skin would be more susceptible to blemishes and blackheads. Also, having dry skin means characteristics of flakiness, irritation, tightness, and shows the signs of ageing more than any other skin type, and we don't want that.
It is important that you find the right type of brush head for your skin type/concerns. There are eight different types, each targeting a specific concern. I have chosen the Clarisonic Mia2 Device with the Lux Cashmere brush head. This brush is suitable for sensitive, dry, and ageing skin, and is ideal for those with rosacea, like myself.
The Clarisonic is not an exfoliating device like some may think. The brush head gently massages the skin through sonic motion; it does not spin or vibrate. It oscillates back and forth at more than 300 movements per second. This gently cleanses and removes impurities, and proves to be six times more effective than manual cleansing.
1. Apply cleanser directly to moistened skin or to a damp brush head.
2. Push the on/off button to turn on your cleansing brush.
3. Select desired speed.
4. Follow T-Timer prompts while gently moving the brush head in small circular motions.
Initial use of the Clarisonic Mia2
Maria assured me that this was gentle enough for people with rosacea. When I used the device, all skepticism went right away. After my first use I could see my skin was unmarked. I had no irritations or flare-ups on my face and haven't since then.
A week of using Clarisonic
The first week of using the Clarisonic, I noticed visible changes in my skin, the texture of my skin had improved dramatically, and the appearance of the pores near my nose looked smaller in size. I tested the Clarisonic on half of my face and manually cleansed the other half. I could feel that the side that I had used the Clarisonic was much smoother and softer, it even felt plumper, due to the massaging of the device simulating blood flow.
The Clarisonic is extremely easy to use, very soft and gentle on the skin. It has a one minute timer, which is broken down into 20 seconds for your forehead, 20 seconds for your nose and chin and 10 seconds for each cheek. Essentially your whole face should be cleansed in 1 minute.
• Effortless to use
• Quick (1 minute)
• Cleansers six times better than manual cleansing
• Reduces pore size with regular use
• 2 speeds
• 2 year warranty
• Softer, smoother skin
• Easy to clean
• Battery life, up to 3-4 weeks on a single charge

Thank you to Maria, Susanna, Tara and the people at Clarisonic. I look forward to continued success using this product.
